How do I register my group?

1. Choose a Site.

It is important to consider many things when choosing a site. How often has my group gone away? How mature is my group? What are the interests of my group? Where might we go that would stretch us out of our comfort zone? When you have answered these questions you will have a better idea of how far your group should go and what type of site to choose. Facility Descriptions and Program Dates have the info you need to complete step one.

2. Recruit youth and adult participants.

Now is the time to see what the interest is in your parish/school community. The Orientation Session is a great way to find out who is interested in Young Neighbors. Be sure to review the Role of an Adult Participant with any adults so that they understand that their role is more than just chaperone or disciplinarian.

3. Register with the Center for Ministry Development.

Now that you have a good idea of the size of your group and the number of adults that you will need (see registration form) send in your non-refundable $50 per person deposit. You can fax your registration or phone in your registration with a credit card for "on the spot" approval, or mail in the registration form with a check. Once we receive your deposit, your group's spaces are reserved until March 1st. Spaces are limited, and registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

4. Begin preparing your team for YNIA!

Preparing for Young Neighbors involves fundraising, justice education, team building, and a whole lot of prayer. In January, we will send you an Team Preparation Manual. This manual contains great resources for each aspect of your preparation. Take a look at the Cost Estimation Worksheet to get started on the financial end (often the most overwhelming part of preparation).

5. Call us.
