About YNIA
A week-long Catholic service-learning program for teams of older adolescents and adults.
Young Neighbors in Action is an exciting, integrated service-learning experience for parish and school teams of older youth and adults. Young Neighbors is more than a week of service. It is an extended program that provides the experiences, skills and learning needed to make change possible.
A letter from the Program Coordinator: Sean Lansing
I am very excited about your interest in the Young Neighbors in Action program. Young Neighbors is a week-long service-learning experience designed to help teams of older adolescents and adults change their perspective so that they can change their world. Young Neighbors provides:
- All the resources that you need to prepare your youth for the week and support their learning experience when they return home.
- A truly Catholic approach to service. Young Neighbors will help your participants understand the challenge of living out our faith in the world by reflecting on Catholic Social Teaching and Scripture throughout the week.
- Opportunities to meet other people from across the country who want to learn how to make a difference in the world today!
- An evening to experience the gifts of a culture from the region where you will serve.
- And most importantly, an opportunity to spend a week in service to those who really need your help.
On this website you will find the resources needed to learn more about the program and to share your excitement about Young Neighbors in Action with the young people and families in your parish or school. If you have any questions about the program, do not hesitate to give me a call at (414) 875-9866. I encourage you to register as soon as possible - program weeks fill up quickly!
Peace in Christ,

Sean Lansing, YNIA Project Coordinator
